Meet Dellena Olps
As a mother of 2, a wife to a Navy veteran, and proud homeowner, we’ve rooted our family in Poway. My civic engagement as a community volunteer created the passion I have for protecting Poway. I have volunteered in programs like: Poway Historical and Memorial Society, PGSL, PALL baseball, PTA and PUSD District Advisory Committee.
In my previous career for The State of California’s Department of Corrections. I worked in a sex offender GPS unit. Working in a high-pressure environment, I upheld a legal obligation to follow policy and procedures. I have a firm understanding of how to keep Poway safe.
Working for California's Employment Development Department Tax Division put me in a position to better understand the challenges and hurdles business owners and employees face in the workplace. Assisting in state wide audits, gave me the knowledge to identify waste, fraud, and abuse. As Mayor I will reform the permitting process; to open businesses, create jobs, and stimulate the economy.
I ask for your vote, and trust, in making a better Poway.

Our Shared Vision
Affordability

Poway is becoming increasingly unaffordable for many households. I am committed to re-establishing more family events, senior programs, after school programs, and fully utilizing our multigenerational center.
Enhancing Roadway Safety
A top priority is public health and safety. With the dangers of increased traffic, we need solar-lit crosswalks and e-bike regulations. Due to MTS route losses, we need to implement a clean-air shuttle system and install additional EV charging stations.

Reclaiming Our Country Roots
Honoring our city motto by preserving open spaces while revitalizing wildlife habitats. Re-planting native vegetation and trees. Creating sustainable Farm Co-op communities in all districts of Poway. Enhancing parks by installing accessible playground equipment in all city parks and increasing neighborhood amenities.
